Privacy Policy
Fun Guard is published by Inverse Gratitude LLC ("we", "us").
The short version: Fun Guard has no accounts and no ads, and what you save in it is kept on your phone. A few outside services receive limited data so that subscriptions, app updates, custom looks and usage analytics work. Each one is described below.
What is saved on your phone
Fun Guard saves the following on your device:
- Your clock-out time and which days you work
- The name you gave your Fun Guard
- Each day's clock-out time, whether it was on time, and treats you gave
- Your answers during setup (how often you work late and what it costs you)
- The pictures for any custom looks you made
Deleting the app deletes all of it. There is no account and no backup copy with us, so it cannot be restored. Some of it is also sent as usage analytics, without your name or any account, as described under "Usage analytics" below.
Reminders
Reminders are optional. If you turn them on, they are scheduled by the app on your own phone. No push notification server is involved, and you can turn them off at any time in iOS Settings.
Subscriptions
Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your card or payment details. Apple shares only what is needed to know whether your subscription is active.
Fun Guard uses Superwall to show the subscription screen and confirm your subscription. Superwall receives:
- Your subscription status and purchase events for Fun Guard
- How the subscription screen was used, such as how many times it was shown
- Technical details about your device: model, iOS version, app version, language, region, currency and time zone
- An approximate location (country, region and city) derived from your IP address
- Apple's identifier for vendor (a device ID that only works for apps from Fun Guard's developer), plus a random ID created by the app. Neither is your name, email address or Apple Account.
This is used to make subscriptions work and to understand how the subscription screen performs. It is not used for advertising and it is not used to track you across other apps or websites. See Superwall's privacy policy.
App updates
When Fun Guard opens, it checks Expo's update service for a newer version of the app. That request includes technical details such as the app version and, like any internet request, your IP address. It does not include anything you entered in the app. See Expo's privacy policy.
Custom looks
Custom looks are optional. If you describe a new look for your Fun Guard, the app asks you to agree first, and then:
- The description you typed is sent to Fun Guard's server, which is hosted by Supabase, and from there to OpenAI, which draws the pictures. Please do not put names or personal details in a description.
- A random ID created by the app is sent with it, so the server can count how many looks this copy of the app has made this month. It is not your name, email address or Apple Account.
- We do not keep your description. The server holds the finished pictures only until your phone has downloaded them, then deletes them. We keep the count of looks made and when.
- OpenAI handles the description and pictures under its API terms. It does not use them to train its models and may retain them for a limited time to check for abuse.
Your clock-out history, pet name and setup answers are not part of this. See OpenAI's privacy policy and Supabase's privacy policy.
Usage analytics
Fun Guard uses PostHog to understand how the app is used and to find problems. PostHog receives:
- What you do in the app: screens opened, setup steps reached and your setup answers (how often you work late, what it costs you, which days you work), your clock-out time setting, when you clock out and whether it was on time, treats given, and when a custom look is made or changed
- Error reports if the app runs into a problem
- Technical details: that the device is a phone, its iOS version and screen size, and the app version
- An approximate location (country, region and city) derived from your IP address
- A random ID created by the app. It is not your name, email address or Apple Account.
It does not receive what you type: not your Fun Guard's name and not the descriptions you write for custom looks. It is not used for advertising or to track you across other apps or websites. See PostHog's privacy policy.
What we do not do
- No accounts, sign-ups or email collection
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers
- No selling or sharing of personal data
- No tracking across other apps or websites
Children
Fun Guard is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Your choices
- Delete the app to erase everything stored on your phone.
- Turn reminders on or off in iOS Settings.
- Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings.
- Custom looks are only made if you ask for one. Delete a look in Settings, Appearance.
- To ask about or request deletion of the limited data held by Superwall, PostHog or our looks server, email us and we will take care of it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
